Job Title: School PsychologistLocation: Portland, MEEmployment Type: Full-TimeJob Description:I am seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students. The School Psychologist will work with students, teachers, families, and school staff to provide psychological services, including assessments, interventions, and consultations, to promote student success in a safe and supportive learning environment.Key Responsibilities:Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify learning, emotional, and behavioral needs.Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans for students with special needs.Provide individual and group counseling for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop strategies that support student learning and mental health.Offer crisis intervention and support to students and staff when needed.Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings, providing psychological insights and recommendations for services and accommodations.Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data and outcomes.Provide professional development and consultation to staff on mental health, behavior management, and inclusive practices.Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).Advocate for a positive school climate and promote social-emotional learning initiatives.Qualifications:Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.Valid Maine School Psychologist certification or licensure.Experience providing psychological services in a school setting is preferred.Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills.Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, parents, and administrators.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Supportive work environment with access to the latest tools and resources.I’m so excited to hear from you!
