About the Job
Maintain, installs, repair,modify,replace all real property locks and locking systems such as door interior and exterior closers, stay open devices, fire exit devices, gates, bars, electronic locs, and card access devices. This includes a variety of locking mechanism found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, sages, vault, electronic and standard cipher locks. Examines locking mechanisms and installs new unit or disassembles unit and replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts or repairs them by filing, drilling, chiseling, and griding. Opens door locks by moving lockpick in cylinder or opens safe locks by listening to lock sounds or by drilling. Makes new or duplicate keys using a key cutting machine. Changes combinations by inserting new or repaired tumbler into lock. Establishes keying system for buildings.
Responsibilities
+ Maintains and safeguards all keys in accordance with company and /or government regulations.
+ Performs a variety of installs, repairs, and modifications to a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults. Knowledge of access control reader (card reader and magnetic locks).
+ Examines locking mechanisms and installs new unit or disassembles unit and replaces work tumblers, springs and other parts or repairs them by filing, drilling, chiseling and grinding.
+ Opens door locks by moving lock pick in cylinder or opens safe locks by listening to lock sounds or by drilling.
+ Makes new or duplicate keys within coded system, using key cutting machine. Changes combination by inserting new or repaired tumblers into lock. Key and lock serial stamping.
+ Entry service (opening work areas where there is a lost key, failed system/lock or other type of lock-out), which includes doors and padlocks.
+ Installs and maintains stand alone cipher locks.
+ Repairs, adjusts, or replaces door panic hardware.
+ Install/removes cores from all affected entry points at buildings undergoing renovations or demolition.
+ Follow established safety procedures and utilize safety protective equipment and clothing that pertain to particular trades and skills.
+ Completes and prioritize work order in accordance with company stands (ie: emergency, urgent, routine, etc)
+ Responsible for completing daily work order log documenting inspections, maintenance, and repair information, to include work performed, materials used and hours work on each assigned work order.
+ Maintain a professional relationship with customers, supervisors, and fellow workers.
+ Operates motor vehicle in accordance with company vehicle policies.
+ Complies with health and safety rules and procedures, performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work
+ Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of Safety, including training, safety protective equipment and clothing, and adhering to safety requirements pertaining to the particular trade.
+ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Possesses and maintain a valid state driver license and acceptable driving record.
+ Basic computer skills (Excel, Word,etc.).
+ Three (3) years working as a Locksmith in maintenance and repair services to include knowledge of the techniques for keying, repairing, installing, and servicing locks and related hardware.
+ Must be able to obtain and Maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
+ Knowledge of lock components and ability to use locksmithing tools.
+ Must be qualified to access facilities, locks, etc. for which key has been lost or the lock has malfunctioned, and to manufacture keys, pin cores, re core locks, install cores.
+ Able to lift 50IBS and team lift 76 IBS.
+ Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
+ Ability to maintain all necessary licenses, IDS, certifications.
+ Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
+ Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional & Courteous manner in diversified situations.
+ Must have an Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensure (AESBL).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 3 years’ experience as a certified locksmith.
+ Previous experience working on a military installation.
+ Verifiable locksmith certifications.
+ Must be able to receive a security clearance for access to material up to and including SECRET and/or pass a National Agency Check
