Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Gastroenterology - $448 to $480 per hour in Brunswick, ME at Curative

We are seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens opportunity starting January 1, 2025. This position involves a combination of outpatient clinic work and procedures, with no call requirements.

Start Date: January 1, 2025 – Ongoing

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Setting: Mix of Inpatient & Outpatient

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Manage an average of 12-14 office/clinic patients per day.
• Provide care for approximately 10-12 hospital-based patients per day.
• Perform required procedures including:
  • Small Bowel Biopsy
  • Lower GI Endoscopy
  • Sigmoidoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube

Upper GI Endoscopy Procedures:

• With Biopsy
• With Foreign Body Removal
• With Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery vs. Laser)
• With Injection of Varices
• With Banding of Varices
• Diagnostic
• Therapeutic
• With PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)

Practice Environment:

• Endoscopy suite and office-based settings.
• Focus on adult patient care in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Availability:

• Ideally two locum candidates to split the month’s coverage.

Requirements:

• Board certification in Gastroenterology.
• Active medical license in ME
