Job Responsibilities
Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with customer service, production, warehouse, and other team members to ensure timely loading and dispatch of trucks as per schedule.
Coordinate booking of trucks with freight carriers.
Communicate loading schedules, special handling instructions, and any specific customer requirements to drivers and shipping partners.
Communicate status updates to plant team.
Shipping Documentation: Generate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels, using computer software or manual methods as required.
Ensure accuracy of shipping information, including product details, quantities, pricing, and destination addresses; verify and record shipment weights, dimensions, and other relevant data for each load.
Provide copy of signed shipping paperwork to Accounts Receivable.
Filing, organizing, checking, and auditing shipping paperwork.
Use of forklift to safely and efficiently load trucks with goods according to shipping schedules and loading plans.
Organize and secure cargo to prevent damage during transit.
Utilize appropriate lifting and loading equipment to handle heavy or bulky items.
Conduct visual inspections of goods before loading to identify any damaged or defective items on all outbound shipments.
Communicate any discrepancies or issues with inventory or shipment contents to the appropriate personnel.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment and handling cargo.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize safety hazards and facilitate efficient workflow.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Work with appropriate personnel to resolve issues related, but not limited to carriers and invoicing.
Back up for Receiving/Warehouse, when needed.
Develop and implement process improvements to continually improve performance measures.
Report progress of improvement projects to Planning Supervisor.
Perform any other duties, assignments, or special projects that may be assigned by the Supervisor or Production Manager.
Initiate, propose or provide solutions related to potential process improvements to reduce or eliminate the generation of waste.
Ensure output meets quality standards.
Ensure all health and safety precautions are taken, policies are followed and enforced.

Qualifications
High school diploma
Minimum three (3) years shipping experience, preferably in manufacturing
Minimum three (3) years safe forklift experience, certified forklift operator
Skills
• Excellent ability to work within a team environment
• Proficient in the use computer, including ERP system
• Must be well organized with the ability to handle changing priorities
• Excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers clearly and effectively on a variety of levels.
