Title: Logistic Coordinator/Disaster Recovery

Ability to Work: Hybrid (personnel are authorized to work remotely part of the time, and therefore, performance may also occur at the contractor’s facilities part of the time based on the authority of the COR located in Washington, D.C.)

Key Responsibilities:
- As a Logistics Coordinator in Disaster Recovery, you will be responsible for managing the coordination of logistics and supply chain operations in response to natural and man-made disasters. You will play a key role in ensuring that essential supplies, equipment, and resources are delivered to affected areas in a timely and efficient manner, supporting disaster response and recovery efforts.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee logistics operations related to disaster response and recovery efforts, ensuring timely delivery of supplies, equipment, and personnel to affected areas.
- Manage the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of disaster relief materials, including food, medical supplies, and temporary shelter resources.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, transportation companies, and other partners to ensure the availability and deployment of resources during disaster recovery operations.
- Track and monitor inventory levels to ensure the availability of critical supplies and equipment for disaster recovery efforts.
- Work closely with federal, state, and local government agencies to ensure that logistics operations align with disaster recovery plans and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth flow of information, resources, and personnel between disaster response teams, government agencies, and partner organizations.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness in disaster recovery operations.
- Monitor and report on logistics performance, including supply chain effectiveness, delivery times, and resource allocation.
- Assist in the creation and updating of disaster recovery logistics plans, procedures, and contingency strategies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all logistics operations, especially in hazardous or high-risk disaster zones.
- Support the preparation and coordination of emergency response drills and training programs related to logistics operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Emergency Management, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in logistics coordination, preferably in disaster recovery, emergency management, or humanitarian aid operations.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and distribution operations.
- Experience working with federal disaster recovery programs (e.g., FEMA, HUD, SBA) or similar government agencies is a plus.
- Ability to manage complex logistics operations in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address logistical challenges during disaster recovery efforts.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in logistics software, inventory management tools, and supply chain management systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, private partners, and disaster response teams.
- Willingness to travel and work in disaster-affected areas, sometimes under challenging conditions.
