JOB SUMMARY:
Accountable for providing daily and strategic leadership of logistics operations. Responsible for successful execution of agreed upon goals and objectives. Measures progress via Daily Scorecard, Weekly Scorecard and Monthly Business Review (MBR) and other means as required. Leads plant team and ensure customer requirements are met through effective management of people, systems and resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitors daily production schedules and output to ensure customers' requirements are met
- Container Management for GM
- Responsible for Shipping, Receiving and Invoice matching
- Responsible for Customer Quality and Service Metrics for both Production and Service.
- Compiles daily, weekly and monthly sales data for Plant Manager and Accounting
- Resolves debits and credits
- Analyzes material purchasing and expediting activities to ensure proper procedures are followed for production and other events, such as engineering changes and product launches
- Ensures all appropriate shipping and receiving procedures are followed and most efficient quality and cost carriers are used
- Ensures customer requirements are received daily, weekly and all communications on shipments made are generated on a timely basis. Any issues affecting customer delivery are to be communicated immediately
- Maintains on-going training programs both internally and externally for employee development. Ensures all employees are cross trained to provide effective back up and support for other department members
- Produces monthly reporting package as required. Achieves materials budget
- Manage sub-contractors through schedules and ensuring inventories are maintained by monthly reconciliation processes
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Four years' college or university program, or eight to ten years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Lean manufacturing and/or Value Stream Mapping (VSM) experience considered a plus.
- Working understanding of ERP/MRP systems (QAD preferred.)
- Should have a working knowledge of best practices in inventory management, supply chain management, personnel management in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Passport or enhanced driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to read, write and speak English.

- Able to stand/walk for the duration of shift (8+ hours).
- Able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
- Able to perform frequent repetitive motions.
- Work station is in a shared and open environment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- 5% Local travel; approximate 20-mile radius
- 5% international travel to our Canadian plants.
