FUNCTION OF THE JOB - To assist and resolve company directed investigations in an appropriate amount of time.
LOCATION: This is an hourly position located at our Corporate office in Bradenton, FL.
INTERACTION
- Reports to the Manager of Investigations
- Extensive interaction within Loss Prevention and key business partners
- Extensive interaction with multiple levels of Law Enforcement
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):
- Monitor for indicators of external and internal loss/ fraud and report any and all circumstances or incidents to the Manager of Investigations.
- Oversee case development and disposition and effectively manage multiple case assignments.
- Assist and respond to specific task assigned during an investigation conducted by Corporate Loss Prevention.
- Extensive use and review of CCTV equipment (analog and digital video and audio).
- Detection, investigation, and documentation of Employee theft, fraud, harassment, discrimination and other violations of law and/or company policy.
- Utilization of covert equipment within Beall’s policy.
- Read and fully understand all policies and procedures as outlined in the Beall’s Loss Prevention Manual, Policies and Procedures Manual, Code of Ethics, Employee Handbook and all other training or communication distributed by the company.
- Conduct investigations as assigned
- Complete all reports as assigned or outlined per current investigative protocol.
- Develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement
- Conduct surveillance and perform Loss Prevention interviews in accordance with Beall’s policy and procedure.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning all conversations, printed matter, electronic data, phone messages and other Loss Prevention business conducted within the scope of the Investigations Specialist’s position.
- Accountable for all company property assigned for use on the job, which includes, but is not limited to, Loss Prevention I.D., phone, computer, etc.
- Appear in court to testify on behalf of the company as required. Effectively manage multiple case assignments.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Although has no direct responsibility of supervising employees, is required to develop partnerships with the members of the Loss Prevention Team, key business partners and law enforcement
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must have full hand and arm usage to perform essential job functions.
- Must have full body rotation (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, etc.)
- Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
- Must be able to climb a 12’ ladder.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Degree in related field and/or equivalent investigative experience is required
- Fluent in English.
- Bi-lingual is Preferred
- Must possess excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Have the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Must demonstrate sound decision making and judgment and be able to remain calm in stressful or critical situations.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Basic understanding of investigative tools (Exception Reports, Case Management, AS400, Social Media, etc.)
- Basic computer programsskills including using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Must be able to successfully complete formalized training requirements.
- Must be able to work weekends and nights as required
- Some overnight travel, multi-night travel as required
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of your employment.
