MDS Coordinator, RN - The Lodge at Mills River Health & Rehabilitation

The Lodge at Mills River Health & Rehabilitation is currently seeking a Full-Time MDS (Minimum Data Set) Nurse! Come with experience or start out with our on-the-job training program to learn the skillset required of MDS.

Qualifications

Experience:

• MDS, 1 year (Preferred)
• Or MDS-specific training
• LONG-TERM CARE, 1 year (Preferred)

Education and/or License:

• Registered Nurse (RN) 

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in the admission process of prospective residents in terms of their nursing needs and appropriate placement.
• Determine potential Resource Utilization Groups (RUGs) and expense associated with a potential admission.
• Review all applications for admission.
• Complete and assure the accuracy of the MDS process for all residents.
• Maintain current working knowledge of Medicare criteria.
• Remain in compliance with the RAI Manual.
• Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affect Medicaid reimbursement.
• Monitor Medicare assessment schedules and nursing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
• Demonstrable knowledge of state and federal regulations.
• Ensure the plan of care for each resident is accurate and up to date.
