Duties:
- Leverage your engineering expertise to design and develop new conductors, tooling, and manufacturing processes, optimizing production capabilities.
- Conduct research programs to evaluate and improve existing products and processes, drawing on your knowledge of design, fabrication, assembly, and materials.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test programs to validate product performance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and product structures, for clear communication and efficient project execution.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of conductor innovation.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external vendors to ensure successful project completion.
- Provide technical support in resolving product issues and maintaining product safety.
- Partner with other departments to seamlessly integrate design considerations into production processes.
- Uphold a culture of quality by ensuring compliance with government regulations and industry standards (ISO 9001).
- Train and guide technicians on new or modified production and testing procedures.
- Continuously develop your professional and technical knowledge through ongoing learning opportunities.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements across product design, equipment, and human factors.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, contributing to high performance outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or a similar engineering field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in technical mechanical design and product design process from ideation through production and introduction into the market.
- Proven ability to apply a scientific approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced SolidWorks experience.
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T practices.
- Strong understanding of machining operations and fabrication techniques and experience with reviewing drawings and engineering change orders and requests.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the goal of being a manager.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
