We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. In total, AECOM Tishman has built more than 900 million square feet – including the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center in New York. **Job Description** AECOM/Tishman, a leading General Contractor is looking for a seasoned MEP Estimator for our ongoing projects in the Boston, MA area. + Develops proficiency in the use of the Company estimating systems and processes. + Recognizes, understands and applies estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling all types of estimates. + Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact the estimate and quantifies the impact. + Assists in analyzing and using estimates to predict key project issues. + Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of full project estimates. Provides complete conceptual and final estimating input. + Understands construction means, methods, and sequences-singe discipline. + Responsible for performing all aspects of estimating. + Assists in the preparation of the Estimate Plan. + Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria. + Develops wage rate build-ups. + Reads and interprets drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals and contracts. + Develops detailed material take-offs for procurement of bulk materials. + Develops cash flow schedules and estimates. + Prepares scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes. + Prepares subcontract bid analysis for scope, cost, and price. + Understands Earned Value Management (EVMS) theory and application. Familiar with estimating all elements of the MEP trades including: + Plumbing + Fire Protection + HVAC + Electrical + Tel/Data and Low Voltage systems + Site utilities and distribution. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirement:** + BA/BS Construction Management, Engineering or similar curriculum and 6 years of construction estimating experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Experience in MEP. **Preferred Requirements** : + Experience in estimating elements of the MEP trades including: + Plumbing + Fire Protection + HVAC + Electrical + Tel/Data and Low Voltage systems + Site utilities and distribution. + 6-10 years demonstrated experience in construction estimating + Experience estimating FP (Fire Protection). + Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and to work with multi stakeholders + Familiarity / Proficiency with the following software or internet-based programs: Blue Beam, OST, MS Excel, MS Word + Ability to read and take-off – Fire protection systems, Plumbing systems, HVAC systems, Electrical systems, Tel-Communication systems, BMS, Security and Fire Alarm systems. **Additional Information** + This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future. + Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. + This position may include relocation. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
