Key Role Description
Performs all field operations of MIPC pipeline and terminal. Works directly with MIPC Controller on shift, coordinating all pipeline events, and various pipeline operations. Is able to train and qualify to do vacation relief and backup for the controller position.

Technical Knowledge - demonstrates the specific skills necessary for the assignments, understands the background and points of leverage to be effective in the role.
* Safely operates and monitors pipeline systems during normal pipeline operations including start-up, shutdown, flow adjustments and product changes. Operates and controls pipelines within the safety limits including maximum operating pressure (MOP) and maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) as mandated under DOT Rule 195.
* Backs up and fills the Controller position during short term absences.
* Trains and performs vacation relief for the Controller position as needed.
* Performs any and all necessary adjustments, readings and other outside functions as directed by the Controller.
* Climbs and samples product tanks and transports to lab for testing
* Performs station checks at various locations along the pipeline
* Performs environmental and regulatory inspections at all facilities.
* Identifies and troubleshoots product quality and measurement issues with technical support from field team members. Conducts batch tracking and communicates estimated arrival times to pipeline intersections and delivery/receipt locations
* Documents situations and events throughout the shift using checklists, operating sheets and handoff sheets to include what was done, what may occur and what future actions may be required. Passes this information along to the subsequent shift personnel.
* Assists technicians and maintenance personal in pipeline work as needed.
* Performs basic accounting functions such as preparing daily throughput reports and weekly volume statements for all business centers.

Required Experience:
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
* Minimum 0-2 years’ pipeline operations experience in a high-risk industry.
* High school diploma.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office products with prior experience with a CMMS.
* Demonstrated proficiency in all of Role Specific Competencies.
* Must maintain a valid drivers license.
