Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Provides technical guidance for staff in the MRI area.*

2. Coordinates schedules. Participates in selection and evaluation of new employees.*

3. Maintains appropriate supply levels in the work area.*

4. Ensures protocols are current and available to staff. *

5. Participates in evaluation and selection of equipment. In conjunction with staff members, assures that equipment is functioning properly.*

6. Participates in development and implementation of Performance goals.*

7. Performs MRI procedures following defined protocols.*

8. Understands and operates relevant electronic information systems.*

9. Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of technical information and to meet the continuing education requirements of regulatory agencies.*

10. Observant of patients’ conditions.*

11. Administers contrast media as required. If a RN is not available, certified technologists may have access to the emergency medications at the direction of the attending physician.*

12. Practices safety in the vicinity of the magnetic field of the MR unit.*

13. Communicates positively and effectively with all patients, physicians, managers, peers and other customers.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE
Required:
Three years experience as MRI technologist.
BLS certification

Preferred:
Previous supervisory experience

EDUCATION
Required:
Registered by ARRT in Radiography.
Advanced certification in MRI (RT (R) (MR))

Hours: Full time, day shift
