Overview
Kamatics, a divison of Kaman that speicalizes in self-lubricating bearings and engineered products, is looking for a Machinist trainee who can work 2nd shift in our Bloomfield, CT office. The core hours for the position are 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM and we are currently running one hour of mandatory overtime, at the beginning of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Overttime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 hours in a week. Our products are used in space, aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. As an industry leader we design, test and manufacture the highest performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal to metal and miniature bearings in the industry.

Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma/GED
- Machining Training Certificate preferred
Experience:
- Some exposure to machining
Skills / Knowledge
- Understanding of Common GD&T restraints such as runout, concentricity, and Parallelism
- Proficient in use of shop math
- Limited technical supervision
- Requires knowledge of machining techniques such as cutting jaws, touching tools off and tramming fixtures
- Familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures such as dry run, geometry and wear offsets, MDI functions and basic G codes
