About the Job
This position is responsible for designing and executing the strategy for Magnet designation to support Nursing Excellence with primary accountability at the delivery network level. The position is responsible for ensuring that processes and structures are in place to advance hospital wide and health system goals related to nursing professional practice and nurse-sensitive data management throughout the multi-year Magnet designation process.

- 1. Magnet Program Management Responsibilities:
- 1.1 Develop and implement project plans to operationalize Magnet designation strategies in collaboration with system Magnet leader and delivery network Chief Nursing Officer.
- 2. Professional Practice Responsibilities:
- 2.1 Serves as for the formal liaison to Nursing Professional Governance at their primary delivery network providing leadership support to Coordinating Council chairs and ongoing assessment of structure success through practice change evaluation.
- 3. Data Management Responsibilities
- 3.1 Collaborates with safety and quality leaders to understand and disseminate nurse sensitive quality data performance in alignment with Magnet standards (Nurse-Sensitive Quality Indicators, Patient Experience, Nurse Satisfaction).
- 4. Leadership Responsibilities
- 4.1 Responsible for delegating work to assigned staff and establishing workflow standards related to the Magnet strategy.
EDUCATION
Minimum Nursing Degree Bachelors or above. Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration (MBA) required
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of Five years of leadership experience in complex health care environment with demonstrated accomplishment in training, program development, project management, and data management. Previous Magnet Journey/Designation experience preferred.
LICENSURE
Current license as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut and in Rhode Island.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Possess experience to understand the dynamics of a professional practice nursing environment and Magnet standards. Strong communication skills. Must interact with all levels in the organization. Demonstrated competency in project management, ongoing system support and maintenance. Demonstrated ability to lead groups and work on numerous projects simultaneously. Previous management experience is required. Ability to influence and direct the thinking of others and deal with all levels of management and different types of staff.
