Job Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the Central Shops Department, including the Machine Shop, Truck Repair Shop, and Roll Shops, at their Davenport, Iowa location. This is a direct hire position offering stability and the opportunity to play a pivotal role in a leading manufacturing environment. As the Maintenance Manager, you will drive key objectives in Environmental and Health and Safety (EHS) and cost controls, while overseeing a diverse team of salaried and hourly employees. Your leadership will also support the development and execution of apprenticeship programs within the central shops.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and lead the Central Shops, including the Machine Shop, Truck Repair Shop, and Roll Shops.

Drive attainment in Environmental and Health and Safety (EHS) objectives and cost controls for the plant and department.

Supervise approximately 10 salaried resources, including technicians, planners, and Team Leaders.

Oversee supervision through Team Leaders of approximately 100 hourly resources, including mechanics, machinists, roll grinders, truck repair mechanics, and apprentices.

Support the plant’s craft training team in the development and execution of apprenticeship programs within the central shops.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering.

5 years of experience with machine repair.

3 years of experience as a department manager.

3 years of experience managing multimillion-dollar department budgets.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, or Manufacturing Engineering.

5 years of experience managing and controlling plant-wide budgets exceeding $50M annually, with demonstrated performance in achieving cost reduction targets.
