While reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the (Maintenance Mechanic- Press Mechanic) is to maintain and set-up the equipment to perform at optimum levels at all times, he or she also has some leadership responsibilities of directing operators and forklift drivers in certain situations. What you will be doing: Follows all safety rules, regulations, exemplifies the belief that working safe is a condition of employment and that all injuries are preventable. Supports Plant safety efforts by leading by example. Inspects assigned equipment to ensure it is in safe operating condition Verifies all safety devices (guards, control circuit devices, stop blocks, etc.) on assigned equipment are intact and properly secured at all times Follows all energy isolation requirements. Monitors the housekeeping and safety habits of team members interacting when deficiencies to policy and procedures are observed We’d love to hear from you if: Can perform preventive maintenance as assigned daily, weekly, monthly, etc., per PMC program Sign out all parts taken from the store room returning any that were not used and fill out work order detail and turn into the appropriate Maintenance Planner Can perform all equipment set-ups and adjustments to equipment to ensure quality compliance to all measurable attributes and performs audits to determine equipment condition versus manufactures specification Work with Maintenance Planner and Plant Engineer to schedule all necessary repairs that require equipment shut down and can complete maintenance training program within the prescribed schedule Participate in the continuous improvement efforts on maintenance effectiveness to eliminate breakdowns and increase equipment reliability. Have experience and competency with precision measuring tools such as, or micrometers, dial indicators, and digital calipers. Know operating standards (units per hour and scrap %) for assigned equipment Verify equipment is operating at theoretical speeds (strokes or units per hour) Make all necessary equipment adjustments to achieve operational standards Organize changeovers in advance to minimize unnecessary downtime Manage breaks and lunch periods per expectations to avoid unnecessary productivity losses Participate in the continuous improvement efforts to minimize unnecessary production stops to increase output per hour. Must demonstrate willingness and ability to communicate with operators, production supervisors, engineers, peers, etc. Clearly understand the requirements per the specified control plan Checks all measurable attributes as defined in the control plan and validates specifications are met, maintained and remain in control (SPC) Assist with Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations for any defective product produced by the team (HFI’s, complaints, returns, etc.) as well as the response to the customer where applicable to eliminate reoccurrence Participate in the continuous improvement efforts outside of Root Cause and Corrective Action by offering suggestions on equipment setup and, or work methods to reduce nonconformance.
