Maintenance Planner - American SpiralWeld Pipe Company, LLC

The role of the Maintenance Planner is to maximize operational efficiency of equipment, minimize unscheduled downtime, and extend the life expectancy of equipment through the creation, implementation, and maintenance of a preventative maintenance program. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordination of all plannable maintenance work performed within the facility and maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters. Serves as the point of contact with material, service, and equipment vendors to order, receive, and ensure payment for parts/supplies and services. Manages courier deliveries and collections, tracks accordingly.

• Inventory assets and systems for inclusion in the preventive maintenance program.
• Review all incoming preventive maintenance requests for completeness, accuracy, and nature of work requested. Follow-up on information provided and ensure that the information is properly entered into the computerized maintenance management system.
• Preplanning and organization of all maintenance outages.
• Perform audits of completed preventative and corrective maintenance work.
• Perform database queries of assets and their preventive maintenance schedules and ensure the integrity of the data.
• Review plans, specifications, etc. to identify assets for inclusion in the preventive maintenance program aimed at improving the turnover of new assets from construction projects.
• Seek input from Maintenance Manager in developing new maintenance task lists and identify new assets which will be included in the program.
• Assist supervisors and managers with concerns and problems identified. Modify the preventive maintenance program, where necessary, to improve the level of preventive maintenance.
• Visit work sites, observe work in progress and constantly review preventive maintenance practices seeking opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct meetings with leadership involved in providing preventive maintenance.
• Train Operations staff in the proper use of the preventive maintenance system. Develop training materials for the CMMS.
• Provide field tagging of new and existing assets.
• Develop asset management workflows to include Problem-Cause-Remedy, equipment classes, and failure types.
• Respond to requests for new assets or processes to be included in the preventive maintenance program.
• Able to coordinate/develop relationship with other plant maintenance departments as well as Engineering.
• Work with existing vendors, seek new vendors, cost analysis comparison as feasible.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

5. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
6. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages and apply concepts of basic algebra.
7. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
8. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
9. Must have the ability to demonstrate computer skills and have proficient knowledge of computerized maintenance software systems, Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project, especially Excel.
10. Must have the ability to read & understand blueprints: pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical.
11. Must have the ability to work alone in a self-directed environment.
12. Must have experience in communication with all levels of employees in a manufacturing setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience with using a computerized maintenance system (CMMS) preferred.
2. Knowledge of JDE/CAM, MaintainX, & AssetWatch software preferred.
3. MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook) preferred.
4. Experience with CAD software preferred.
5. Experience as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician preferred.
