Position Summary
Responsible for providing the leadership, direction and resources necessary to safely and effectively manage Maintenance functions. The position is responsible for oversight of the Maintenance Technician positions and ensuring that reactive work is managed in accordance with planned/scheduled maintenance activities. Promotes close cooperation among the Maintenance Planner, Engineering, Production Supervisors, and outside contractors. In the performance of these functions, the Maintenance Supervisor cooperates closely with the Maintenance Coordinator, Production Supervisors, accounting personnel, and others as needed. The incumbent must have three to five years of experience as a maintenance technician or planner and five to seven years of experience in either Mechanical or E&I Maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The level of technical sophistication at a modern plant is such that at least an associate degree or its equivalent in either mechanical or electrical engineering is necessary or relevant training and experience. A bachelor’s degree in either mechanical or electrical or electronic engineering is desirable. Technically the entire maintenance group supports the incumbent. This position is predominantly concerned with achieving results through people.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Achieve immediate and short-term maintenance goals.
In-depth knowledge of Maintenance, continuous improvement, predictive/preventive maintenance programs.
Supervise a team of technicians, providing technical guidance, support and leadership in their everyday work assignments.
Mentor and motivate the technicians and other employees you interact with.
Provide training and development.
Assign work orders and follow up to make sure repairs are completed and equipment is returned to intended design, functionality and within OEM specifications and industry standards.
Ensure that all Conditional Based Monitoring, Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance is completed as scheduled and follow up work is documented and communicated.
Perform lock out/tag out certifications on equipment.
Communicate to your team how they are doing, and recognize and reward them, but also counsel if there are performance issues.
Complete paperwork and documents and ensure the maintenance team completes paperwork.
Safety is very important, conduct safety checks throughout the day.
Participates in continuous improvement and special projects.
Verifies repair work for accuracy.
Cross training in other areas of the department.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in mechanical or electrical Pre-Engineering or relevant training and experience
1 - 2+ yrs. Supervisory Maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
5-7+ yrs. Experience in Manufacturing Maintenance Role
Knowledge of the operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of equipment
