As a Maintenance Supervisor/Electrician, you'll join a team of multi-discipline technical experts, ensuring that our clients can deliver their products and services - uninterrupted. We'll give you the tools to become an expert on the electrical systems that support our client's operations and keep their people safe. You'll grow your expertise to help your team succeed in the safe and time-critical operation, maintenance and repair of mission-essential electrical equipment and components including low voltage and medium voltage systems such as chillers, variable frequency drives (VFD), emergency generators, uninterrupted power supply (UPS), panel boards, branch panels, motor control centers, and related facilities equipment.
You'll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to complex challenges that may arise in our client's state of the art facilities. Most importantly, you'll?take action?to ensure the safety, health and well-being of your team and our planet.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Supervises preventive and corrective maintenance on treatment plants and equipment
* Plans, schedules, and directs maintenance of a wide variety of specialized mechanical and electrical equipment plus buildings, structures, and grounds
* Coordinates and supervises the personnel and other resources required in the maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment facilities
* Evaluates maintenance policies and objectives
* Makes estimates of cost and time for different aspects of maintenance, repair, and construction work
* Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications, and mechanical illustrations
* Performs skilled mechanical repair work on wastewater treatment plant engines, pumps, and other equipment
* Diagnoses malfunctions and determines effective courses of action for correcting them
* Performs heavy manual labor
* Keeps records and prepares routine and special reports
* Follows oral and written directions
* Communicates effectively orally and in writing
* Develops, implements, and enforces safety regulations and procedures
* Provides training to less experienced employees
* Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships and has strong interpersonal skills
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assigns and supervises maintenance crews in major and minor repair work and overhauls on plant's engines, motors, pumps, and related equipment
* Supervises the use of special equipment involved in maintenance and repair work
* Schedules work to be done and determines type and quantities of materials needed for such work
* Reviews work projects in progress and at completion - Inspects buildings and equipment for needed maintenance and repair
* Ensures the proper use and care of tools, materials, and safety equipment
* Assures adherence to safety, cleanliness, and fire prevention rules and standards
* Consults with Project Manager in planning workload and assignments
* Tunes up engines; sets valve clearances; and cleans and adjusts regulators, gas, and other controls and devices
* Maintains and repairs pumps; replaces bearings, valves, seals, and controllers; builds pump mounts and brackets; does welding; lays conduit
* Maintains comprehensive log of all maintenance work done on equipment - Determines remedial action in emergency situations

* High school graduate or equivalent
* At least 3 years of related commercial and industrial electrical maintenance experience
* Varied electrical and mechanical experience
* Proven understanding of electrical system components and theory
* Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and equipment drawings
Ideally, you'll also have:
* Trade school or technical program diploma
* Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to wastewater treatment plant operations and procedures
* Knowledge of the principles and practices of an effective mechanical, structural, and grounds preventive maintenance program and operations of internal combustion engines and electrical pump motors
* Electrical knowledge involved in working on pumps, motors, and other equipment; equipment, tools, and materials used in maintaining and repairing wastewater treatment plant and related equipment
* Demonstrated experience in the principles of supervision and training, safety principles and practices, and related state and federal laws and regulations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds from floor level to waist high; items lifted are often bulky and difficult to handle
* Must be able to climb and work off a ladder or scaffold
* Must be able to ascend and descend 1,000 steps per day (8-hour shift)
* Must be able to use arms and back to tighten and loosen nuts and bolts
* Must be able to carry a 50-pound toolbox up a flight of stairs
* Must be able to work in tight places
* Must have flexibility to reach, stoop, and bend to work on equipment
