Essential Job functions (Tasks, duties and responsibilities most important for the job)
- Uses correct procedures to order, receive, and track parts and supplies. Consistently processes and submits reports or paperwork. Creates and maintains organized files and databases and identifies and resolves discrepancies in records or files. Tells management about incorrect or inefficient processes, inventory variances, and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) deficiencies. Records and reconciles financial transactions in a timely manner, and maintains the security of financial files
- Provides support to maintenance operations by generating and maintaining forms, reports, and logs via computerized maintenance management software (CMMS); performing weekly inventory checks; tracking financial transactions; and overseeing and communicating equipment warranties to suppliers
- Must control and issue tools and parts to maintenance as required.
- Generate reports and assist in purchasing of parts and equipment as required.
- Track and maintain trend performance reporting tools.
- Uses policies, procedures, and/or guides to make good choices. Uses data and facts in order to make day-to-day decisions and involves others as needed. Recognizes what might be a problem and informs those who can correct it.
- Plan for and Improve Work - Accepts responsibility and meets expectations for own work. Identifies steps needed in order to carry out work as required
- Uses policies and information in order to exceed company expectations. Finds and uses the right resources (products and tools) at the right time in order to resolve work requests.
- Must have the ability to perform the job with the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE - ANY DUTIES NOT CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL)
- Occasional assistance to industrial engineering and maintenance technicians as required.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Required Experience:
knowledge, skill and ability requirements-minimum compentencies required for job
- Basic working knowledge of computers, RF Scanners and Warehouse Management systems.
- Basic working knowledge of conveyor, equipment and electrical parts.
- Proven team member with skills to multi-task.
- Proficient reading skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, specifically proficient with Excel and Word.
- The ability to use basic computer functions as needed.
- Must have the ability to abide by all of Carter’s policies and procedures; specifically, the attendance policy.
- Must have the ability to work safely and abide by all of Carter’s Safety rules and procedures.
- Must know, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
- The ability to be certified on lift equipment should this be required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, to include, but not be limited to fall protection, eye protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, chemical protection, and electrical protection.
Prior work experience and educational requirements
- High school diploma or a GED preferred, not required.
- Six months automated distribution center experience preferred.
PHYSICAL and Work DEMANDS
- Must be available to work in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment, flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based upon business needs.
- Must be able to stand and work for long periods including daily overtime, holidays and overtime as required.
- Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
- Use approved equipment to access freight and equipment in elevated areas.
- May work with substances that require special handling.
- Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to forty pounds.
- Must be able to work in varying to extreme temperatures.
- Holiday schedule to be decided by Management.
- Must be available to work consecutive days in a row (for example 14+ days).
- Comply with Blackout Periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) as determined by Management.
