Maintenance Tech I
3rd Shift (8PM-8AM)
Pay Rate: $23.50 hr + $2.10 Shift Differential
Summary: As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide maintenance and training for PAC equipment and employees in the Middletown facility. This position requires an understanding of industrial safe work practices, electrical safe work practices, and the basic principles of repairs on industrial machinery. You must be able to assist with installations and repairs for new and existing equipment using basic shop tools, electrical components and fabricated items to install, diagnose, repair and optimize PAC machinery. The Maintenance Level I Tech will understand VFD and servo motors, pneumatics/hydraulics, mechanical/electrical blueprints, and possess a willingness to work independently to solve problems or make repairs to industrial equipment.
Safety is a top concern. The Maintenance Technician will identify safety concerns related to OSHA regulations and maintain all equipment to OEM, OSHA or PAC safety standards. The ideal candidate for the Maintenance Level I Technician position will have a high school diploma, at least 2 years of experience in an industrial environment and a knack for training less experienced employees according to company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety
- Work safely and be able to identify potential safety concerns in PAC facilities and coach others on safe work practices.
- Take initiative to bring unsafe conditions to the attention of the appropriate person or resolve personally.
- Meet all maintenance related OSHA safety regulations including required safety adherence, required inspections, and facility maintenance.
- Follow up on various maintenance tasks related to safety as a result of Safety Committee recommendations, inspections or employee suggestions.
- Maintain all equipment to OEM, OSHA or PAC established safety standards.
Training
- Train less experienced employees in their essential duties.
Equipment Maintenance
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform repairs as needed including light building repair.
- Perform Basic Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures while following a prescribed program and schedule.
- Install basic electrical components, such as switches and limits.
- Fabricate basic items, as needed, for machine repair and improvement.
- Use basic shop tools to perform all necessary repairs and fabrication.
- Follow OEM manuals to perform basic setup and repair procedures.
- Ability to diagnose, repair and find the root cause of basic machine problems that impact quality and productivity.
Organization
- Follow basic outlined inventory control process.
- Ability to work with supervision to complete assigned work
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
General:
- Basic understanding of industrial electrical components including VFD and Servo Motors.
- Basic understanding of Pneumatics, and Hydraulics.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical blueprints.
- Ability to work with supervision to complete assigned work.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 2 or more years’ experience in an industrial environment
Language Skills:
- English, oral, and written communication skills (required).
- Effectively record and communicate machine repairs both internally and externally.
- Technical writing skills (preferred).
Mathematical Skills:
- Basic mathematical skills
- Have understanding of decimals, fractions and the metric system
- Ability to read basic measuring tools (scales, micrometers, gauges)
Reasoning Ability:
- Basic reasoning skills
- Have the ability to work through basic electrical and mechanical issues as they arise and establish the permanent repair method
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills (required).
- Understanding of Microsoft Office programs (preferred).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Ohio driver’s license (required)
- Ability to get forklift certification, (required).
- Ability to get scissor lift certification, (required).
- Ability to get boom lift certification, (required).

- The environment is consistent with a manufacturing and office atmosphere. Heating is provided in the winter and basic cooling in the summer. Work may be required to be performed outside of the building.
- Work is performed by using both hands and arms while in a standing position, including frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling for an twelve hour shift.
