About the Job
As a Maintenance Technician at the YMCA of the North Shore you will help ensure the regular upkeep and preventative maintenance as part of a large Maintenance team spread throughout our North Shore locations. Current fulltime opportunities are available at the new Cabot Street affordable housing properties and all of the other affordable housing units in Beverly. On a regular day you will maintain building upkeep by completing minor repairs, plumbing, and basic electrical updates, you will paint, and support basic construction. You will support preventative maintenance through routine practices and ensure the safety and security of our properties. Additionally, you will maintain the grounds by providing snow removal and sidewalk care, as well as lawn care and landscaping throughout the seasons. This role requires flexibility and the ability to respond in the event of an emergency, hours may vary, but will typically follow a traditional Monday-Friday schedule.
To thrive in this role you have a solid background in basic manual trades where project management and leadership was a responsibility. You are able to prioritize and complete projects while working both independently and as part of a facilities team. You have demonstrable knowledge of building equipment and problem-solving skills to address unexpected circumstances. You enjoy a fast paced environment and are able to adapt to changes in plans and priorities as shifts take place in facility needs.

Qualifications
- 1-3 years relevant experience related to trades including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and preventative maintenance
- Basic computer skills including typing and reviewing online work orders
- Previous OSHA certification preferred but not required, or willingness to acquire certification needed within 6 months
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift, bend, twist, and reach as needed to execute job responsibilities
- Must have a valid driver's license and/ or reliable transportation
