Position Description:
The Maintenance Technician of a high-rise, a luxury apartment building in Ashburn, VA and provide exceptional customer service to all residents, and is responsible for the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and painting at the community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Class “A” customer service – Building a good rapport with residents and going above and beyond whenever possible
- Protect and assist in improving the value of the client’s assets and ensure that building engineering systems continue to perform their intended function
- Perform PM on apartments and building equipment
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and cleaning of property both interior and exterior
- Perform emergency on-call service in a rotation order
- Perform electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and appliance repairs
- Repair and treat structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls, and building exteriors
- Make units ready for new move‐ins
- Maintain, repair, and replace HVAC systems
- Complete grounds work such as grounds pick up, sweeping and light landscaping, as necessary
- Mentor Maintenance Technicians assigned to the property by assigning work orders, scheduling apartment turnovers, and coordinating vendors and contractors in the maintenance manager’s absence
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement
- CFC Universal Certification required
- Maintenance Technician for at least 1-5 years
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in multi-family housing and mid to large-size facility operations required
- Current driver's license without major violations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook required
- General understanding and use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Building automation systems experience a plus
- Yardi experience is a plus
- Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting
- Understands elevator maintenance, fire sprinkler/alarm systems, and high-rise buildings
- Proficient with computers and relevant computer programs
- Outgoing personality with the ability to relate to a diverse group of people and build strong relationships
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work effectively as a team contributor on applicable assignments
- Ability to respond to others’ needs in a timely and courteous manner
- Ability to work after hours and weekends, as needed including on-call rotation
- Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment and learn in a growing organization
- Must be highly credible and trustworthy, and operate with a high degree of integrity
