Job Summary: Responsible for performing and managing installations, repairs, and maintenance of facility, equipment, and grounds according to Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots, repairs, renovates, installs, operates, and maintains facilities, fixtures, equipment, and grounds
- Repairs mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Assists with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC system
- Completes maintenance work orders as assigned and in a timely manner
- Identifies and performs services and repairs on plumbing fixtures
- Identifies and assists with carpentry and repair work
- Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools, including saws, router, drills, sanders, planers, drill presses, and various hand tools
- Maintains inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment
- Recommends tools, supplies, and equipment for purchase
- Wears proper protective equipment while performing job duties
- Performs assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision
- Coordinates activities of outside contractors as needed
- Manages preventative maintenance program, and performs scheduled preventative maintenance
- Installs and removes heavy equipment
- Uses diagnostic tools to inspect and test all machinery and equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: High school education with a minimum of 5 years work experience in maintenance trade or vocational school. Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration equipment, and plumbing systems preferred.
- A minimum tenure of 2 years in the Maintenance Technician I position is required to be met before consideration for promotion to the next position level: Maintenance Technician II.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s and calculate percent. Ability to perform these calculations using units of American weight and measurement.
Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to read, write and speak simple sentences in English. Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural documents.
