Maintenance Technician - Rule 5 Hire

About the Job
A manufacturing maintenance technician will perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment used in the manufacturing process to ensure the successful execution of production activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS:
- Must understand the importance of quality requirements by maintaining, adjusting, and repairing manufacturing equipment in a timely manner when necessary to meet customer needs.
- Must adhere to relevant TS16949 and ISO14001 systems work instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Correct mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc., problems and if not possible, report concerns to group leader and/or Dept. Manager.
- Maintain, inspect, repair and/or adjust trim fixtures, assembly fixtures, support equipment, etc., when necessary to ensure employee safety and product quality.
- Advise group leader and/or department manager when spare parts are used for repairs.
- Possibly create and generate requisitions if required. Organize spare parts if necessary.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures as well as safety rules 100% of the time.
- Use MP2 software to communicate Work Orders and document use of spare parts.
- Perform timely Preventative Maintenance on assigned fixtures and machinery.
- Carry and enforce workplace safety guidelines and health and safety statement.
- Ensure first aid treatment is given to an injured employee immediately and further assistance, including medical is sought immediately.
- Complete reports of accidents / incidents immediately and participate in corrective action process.
- Ensure safety concerns that arise from safety incidents, accidents or safety meetings are corrected immediately.
- Ensure work instructions are followed to produce quality part per customer specifications.
- Cooperate, participate and lead corrective actions in conjunction with health and safety committee, continuous improvement team and other departments within facility.
- Ensure all local, state and federal laws are upheld and followed in relation to safety, environmental, hiring and recruitment and worker safety, as stated by TOSHA and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Association.
- Contribute to a work environment free from harassment, where fairness, equality and non-discriminatory practices are standard
Skills/Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods, tools, common appliances and devices, and ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of parametric and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Education:
- High School Graduate or GED
Work Experience:
- 2-3 yrs. Experience in maintenance in automotive industry
- Mechanical background with general knowledge in electrical, mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machine shop skills.
- Read and understand electrical wire diagrams and be able to read machine prints.
- Must be able to adhere to relevant ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems
