POSITION SUMMARY:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Assist in repairs involving: plumbing components, electrical, drywall and painting, furnishings, and equipment. 
• Repair equipment, furnishings, drywall, ceiling, flooring, painting, plumbing components, electrical components, windows and doors as needed.
• Conduct specified inspections/servicing as required to comply with all Life Safety Code and Joint Commission requirements. 
• Clean patient rooms, common areas, hallways and offices.
• Document daily per facility requirements all preventative and corrective maintenance tasks performed either in-house or by contract personnel.
• Document daily in the department work log all maintenance activities performed.
• Document repair damage caused by patients and submit to Director for expense recovery. 
• Record serial numbers on new equipment per facility protocol. 
• Maintain and repair equipment following department safety practices.
• Maintain facility equipment in accordance with department policies and procedures and manufacturers’ recommendations to ensure safe operating conditions. Perform electrical safety inspection on new equipment and tag appropriately.
• Follow department procedures and take appropriate precautions to maintain employee and patient safety during work activities.
• Consult with department management in advance of performing any maintenance tasks that could disrupt the provision of service to patients. 
• Interact with patients, family members, external entities and internal staff professionally and respectfully. 

EDUCATION: 

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
