The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing day-to-day preventive and predictive maintenance activities and maintaining and repairing equipment. In this role you will also need to operate heavy equipment (forklift, loader, etc). You will also have a chance to continuously look for improvement opportunities, and foster an atmosphere of continuous improvement to drive increased reliability and gained efficiencies. This position reports into the Maintenance Supervisor and works with multiple levels at the site to ensure cooperation and coordination of all departments to meet production requirements.
Requirements
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines within the maintenance department and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to minimize/mitigate machine down time,
- Routine inspection and testing of fire protection systems and emergency lighting systems,
- Accurate recording and reporting of maintenance activities and test results,
- Provide recommendations for the planned preventative maintenance program to maintenance supervision,
- Carry out mechanical and plumbing and repair activities to ensure high productivity, quality, and safety,
- Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs to production equipment during off hours,
- Works closely with the Millwright, Maintenance technicians and Maintenance Engineer to review and correct findings from root cause analysis and from monitoring of rotating equipment, ex. from vibration or oil analysis,
- Works with teams to identify capitals needs related to asset integrity and in long term capital planning,
- Participates in the development of best practices to ensure asset integrity,
- Participates in scoping and implementation of small to medium sized capital projects,
- Maintains records and documentation related to maintenance activities, including work orders and maintenance history.

- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility, preferred

Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
