POSITION REQUIREMENTS *(Required Tasks)*
- Performs maintenance activities to the facility, its fixtures, machinery and tools to ensure safety throughout
- Accurately follows written and oral instructions and processes
- Operates basic machine shop equipment (milling machine, drill press, surface grinder, lathe, etc.)
- Performs preventive maintenance on tooling, facility/ production equipment.
- Works in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work overtime when requested; required to be on the on-call schedule and available during those times
- Must provide own basic tool set
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical prints.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors
- Follows all safety rules and procedures
- Experience with Forklifts, scissor lift, oscillating lift, and overhead cranes.
- All other duties as assigned.
SKILL SET *(Required Skills)*
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Problem solving/analyzing skills
- Good computer skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Advanced Maintenance Management System software experience (a plus)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The duties of this job require the employee to perform mostly standing work with occasional movement throughout the facility to transfer or deliver parts. Frequent use of powered industrial trucks. Occasional work at a desk and a computer screen. Frequent use of hands/fingers to handle and control tools. Frequent lifting and/or pushing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting and/or pushing up to 80 pounds. Frequent bending, squatting, and stooping. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, the employee is commonly exposed to noise, heat, and dust. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals. PPE is required in this area.
