About the Job
The Maintenance Welder Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance, welding, and repair tasks on equipment and machinery used in the precast concrete manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both welding and mechanical maintenance, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding and fabrication to repair or modify production equipment and structural components.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repair of machinery, including mixers, conveyors, and other heavy equipment.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Use various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) as needed for different projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals to execute repairs accurately.
- Maintain equipment logs and documentation of maintenance activities.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery or production lines as required.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to ensure seamless operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines to create a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; technical certifications in welding or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance and welding, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and managing time effectively.
- Physical ability to handle heavy machinery and work in various positions (standing, bending, lifting).
- Basic electrical knowledge is a plus.
