Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and patient-focused Mammography Technologist to join client's hospital team. In this role, you'll perform mammography exams, assist with special procedures, and contribute to patient care in a collaborative environment. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will help ensure accurate results and a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient history and physician orders to ensure correct procedures are followed.
- Educate patients on the process, equipment, and exam for their comfort and understanding.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as required by scope of practice.
- Monitor patient conditions during procedures and report any significant changes.
- Assist with interventional procedures such as fine needle aspirations and needle localizations when necessary.
- Prepare and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it meets safety and quality control standards.
- Ensure compliance with Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and accreditation requirements.
- Position patients properly and perform imaging, including biopsies and specialized procedures.
- Analyze imaging results and resolve quality issues, repeating procedures as needed.
- Perform breast ultrasound scans and biopsies as required.
- Maintain accurate records of imaging results and follow-ups in accordance with BiRad guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Mammography preferred.
- ARRT Registered and Mammography Registry Eligible.
- Active membership with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage stress in fast-paced situations.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
