Position Summary
The Manager – Pellet Plant will oversee the entire pellet plant operations and maintenance, ensuring world class performance in safety, quality, and production. This position involves managing a team, optimizing processes, managing budgets, and working with other departments to meet production goals and adhere to environmental and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager – Process, the Manager – Pellet Plant will be responsible for the following:
- Lead day-to-day operations and maintenance of the pellet plant to ensure efficient production and adherence to quality standards.
- Create production schedules, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee and manage a team of coordinators, supervisors, planners, and operators.
- Conduct performance evaluations.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections.
- Assist in developing and managing pellet plant budget.
- Ensure timely acquisition of materials and supplies to meet department goals.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excels in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of pellet production processes, maintenance, and quality control standards.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial management, preferably in a pelletizing or mineral processing environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field; or Associates degree in an Industrial Trade with qualifying experience.
Physical Requirements
- This position is a mixture of field work and office duties. Field work will be conducted daily throughout the year so exposure to the elements (rain, snow, cold, heat, etc) is to be expected. The office duties will require work in front of a laptop, desk, and phone.
