Responsibilities
Manager of Training and Technical Assistance, LA Best Babies Network
Position Summary:
The Manager of Training and Technical Assistance works closely with the Director of LABBN (LA Best Babies Network) and Executive Director to plan and develop programs within the department in order to meet the contractual obligations, and fulfill LABBN's mission, vision and goals.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
+ Develops program performance objectives, work plans and timelines and provides day to day leadership and oversight of program activities to meet performance objectives.
+ Provides supervision for training and technical assistance staff and interns.
+ Oversees the development, logistics planning, implementation, and evaluation of training provided by and through LA Best Babies Network to ensure that all services provided are of quality, engaging, effective, and conducted with fiscally responsibility.
+ Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates technical assistance provided to community-based organizations, as well as public health, health care and social service providers participating in the funded programs and initiatives. Technical assistance is focused in areas related to monitoring program implementation and outcomes, continuous quality improvement, site audits, assessment, planning, conducting, and evaluating community-based and/or public health interventions directed at improving pregnancy, birth and infancy outcomes, especially through trauma informed home visiting programs.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
+ Minimum of a Master in Public Health, Maternal and Child Health focus, Epidemiology, Behavioral Science, Nursing, or similar field.
+ Minimum of 5 years work experience in public health or community-based research setting or equivalent academic achievement.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in home visiting with prenatal and 0-5 population.
+ Minimum of 3 years of supervising a team of at least 5 staff.
Licensure:
+ Fire safety, BLS/CPR for adult and child.
+ Valid California driver’s license and current, full coverage auto insurance.
Special Skills and Training:
+ Requires excellent computer skills with programs such as MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point, and statistical programs such as SPSS, Stata, and/or SAS.
+ Knowledge and direct experience with providing training to multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural groups.
+ Experience managing and evaluating projects.
+ Ability to speak publicly and effectively to diverse groups of community members and health care professionals.
+ Creativity and flexibility in developing approaches, problem solving and working on a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural team.
+ Ability to work within time constraints.
+ Skilled in applying principles of adult and experiential learning.
+ Training in home visiting, child development, maternal and child health, trauma informed care, family centered care, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)

$34.50 - $48.87 /hour
