Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Manage the overall accounting and financial reporting function by reviewing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and preparing financial statements
- Examine completed financial statements and provide timely review notes to staff to ensure client needs are being met consistently
- Review and sign quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
- Increase the accuracy and transparency of the company’s financial standing by preparing reports and dashboards to help our clients understand their financial data and provide solutions to enhance best practices
- Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balance
- Proactively identify accounting, internal control, and financial reporting deficiencies and provide guidance for implementing solutions and process improvements
- Train and assist with the development of new and current staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- 6+ years of accounting experience (public accounting preferred, but not required)
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and/or willingness to embrace new technology
- Highly adept at planning and organizing workload to manage multiple client engagements in an accurate and timely manner
- Ability to multi-task, think independently and be an expert problem solver
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
- 3 years supervisory experience
- Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
- Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
- Proficient use of applicable technology
