I. Job Summary
Supervises employees and operations of wastewater treatment plant. This facility is certified by the Environmental Certification Board of the SC Department of Labor and has a preference for candidates with a Grade B-Biological certificate or higher.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
+ Manages personnel and daily operations of plant to maintain optimum disposal flow. Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
+ Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
+ Fulfills purchasing function, including purchasing supplies, maintaining purchase order log, and reviewing P-card transactions, for the treatment plant.
+ Assembles and analyzes data. Tests and monitors results and creates appropriate reports.
+ Serves as a liaison between plant and vendors, contractors, management, security, and others.
+ Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
+ Oversees personnel needs of the department including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:
+ Direct supervision of full-time employees including: technicians and operators.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
+ Education: High school diploma or GED (accredited).
+ Experience: Four (4) years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
+ Preferred: State Wastewater Operator Certificate (Class B or higher).
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
+ Previous plant supervisor experience may be required.
