Role Overview:
Alameda Health System is hiring! Under general direction, the Manager of Imaging Services oversees the day-to-day operations of the Imaging Services at the Wilma Chan Highland Hospital Campus. The manager will be responsible for the development, interpretation and application of departmental policies and departmental budget. Assists with long range planning and equipment purchase. Performs related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High Diploma or GED required. AA Degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum Experience: Five years experience in performing a variety of x-ray examinations under the supervision of a qualified radiologist. Minimum Experience: Two years in a supervisory capacity of a Radiology/Imaging Services department. Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Valid certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid certificate as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the State of California Department of Public Health.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzes sick leave, overtime, and payroll records
- Analyzes workload to determine productivity needs; purchase of supplies at suitable
- cost, makes recommendation with regard to equipment, personnel, discipline, patient
- care, essential construction; prepares annual review and expense budget for review by
- the Chief Radiologist and Administration
- Assesses monetary needs of Imaging Services Department through short and longterm
- planning directed at cost-containment
- Ensures staff is able to utilize age specific policy and procedures in the performance of
- their job duties
- Ensures that all Imaging Services Department staff expedites consumer service in a
- courteous, professional, and time-efficient manner by monitoring availability of services, time management studies, employee evaluations, and controlling staffing patterns for a 24-hour per day full services Imaging Services Department
- Establishes standards to maintain the efficient operation of a full service Imaging
- Services Department by compiling statistics, preparing reports, and other documentation
- Keeps abreast of trends and developments in the fields of medicine management and technological advancements
- Maintains radiologic services in conformance with the Federal and State Regulations
- as outlined with the Bureau of Standards Handbook, #79 and the California Radiation Control Regulations, #17
- Ensures compliance with state and federal rules and regulations on safety through periodic audits, quality assurance programs, and environmental appraisals
- Participates in hospital meetings, conferences and represents the Imaging Services Department in relation to Radiology functions and student activity
- Maintains effective relationships with other departments and agencies both inside and outside the organization to promote the delivery of quality health care and efficient use of resources
- Recruits, interviews, hires, orients, counsels, evaluate necessary personnel, including promotions and demotions of technical and clerical personnel within contractual agreements and organizational policies
- Coordinates and conducts department inservice education and promotes professional growth of staff
- Reviews quarterly performance, revisions and updates of annual budget
- Analyzes variances and corrective action to be taken for negative variances
