As a Manager, Labor and Employment Compliance at RXO, you will focus on the proactive mitigation of risk to the organization related to labor and employment federal, state and local laws. This includes the execution and monitoring of process and compliance within the company, collecting, analyzing, monitoring and disseminating data related to RXO’s legal requirements under state, federal and local labor laws. You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including those in Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Analytics, Total Rewards, Legal, Compliance and HR Business Partners to achieve RXO’s objectives.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Research and monitor changes in labor and employment legal requirements in all jurisdictions in which RXO operates, recommend appropriate compliance action, create and maintain templates and documentation, act as a project manager working with key stakeholders to implement necessary compliance action such as updates and monitoring of:
- Job posting, new hire notices/acknowledgments, onboarding and annual employee notifications
- State and local paid sick leave laws, rate of pay/overtime calculation requirements and FLSA status
- Handbook and employment templates
- Sexual Harassment and Discrimination
- Drug and Alcohol testing
- Religious and other reasonable accommodation processes
- Confidential Information Protection Agreements
- Ensure proactive mitigation of risk to the organization in labor and employment legal requirements across the multiple jurisdictions in which RXO operates
- Conduct periodic self-audits, summarize areas of opportunity and recommend appropriate interventions to eliminate possible barriers or risk in the hiring and selection processes. This may include monitoring progress and compliance toward annual Affirmative Action placement goals, state and local job posting and salary transparency requirements, FLSA and minimum pay requirements, I-9 and sick leave laws
- Document and audit recruitment and selection record-keeping procedures consistent with OFCCP rules and related regulations to include interview notes, applicant management and dispositioning and job postings
- Serve as a subject matter expert on recruitment and selection related EEO and OFCCP rules and regulations to include the Internet Applicant Recordkeeping Rule, required postings, self-identification and outreach efforts
- Update and submit annual Federal and State reporting for minority and female utilization (EEO-1, VETS etc.) and Affirmative Action Plans
- Assist in the collection of information in connection with legal claims and employment litigation
What you’ll need to excel:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 5 years of experience working with labor and employment compliance, federal requirements and/or regulatory matters (AAP, OFCCP, EEO); experience working closely with legal, compliance and audit partners.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar software.
- 3 years of experience auditing against regulatory standards.
It’d be great if you also have:
- Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate in employment law
- 7+ years of experience working with labor and employment compliance, federal requirements and/or regulatory matters (AAP, OFCCP, EEO); experience working closely with legal, compliance and audit partners.
