GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for management of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Management responsibilities include assigning resources to the various Engineering Projects and developing those resources to meet the needs of the business. Works closely with the Sales and Business Development team in coordinating research and development activities while applying technologically advanced innovative solutions to a range of engineering problems. Supervise the Mechanical Engineering group to ensure products developed achieve engineering objectives while supporting Company initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Improve Mechanical Engineering Department effectiveness in the areas of quality, productivity and innovation in product design.
- Establishes and monitors departmental goals in support of company goals.
- Develops and maintains departmental procedures.
- Directs the efforts of the Mechanical Engineering Department, including supervision of staff and associated personnel actions.
- Assigns resources to jobs and assists in scheduling.
- Helps resolve mechanical engineering questions.
- Ensures adequate training for personnel.
- Ensure adequate tools and infrastructure is in place for Mechanical Engineering resources can meet department objectives.
- Coordinates with other departments to resolve inter-departmental and job-specific issues.
- Supports the Sales and Business Development department in proposal development and engineering estimates.
- Attends job kick-off meetings and participates in design reviews with customers.

Requires a minimum 4 year college/university education in a technical field, or equivalent experience
Requires minimum 10+ years professional engineering experience, including supervision
WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office environment
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
