Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Evaluation:
- Assess organizational adherence to Magnet Program standards.
- Identify gaps and lead teams in developing action plans for improvement.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with nursing staff at all levels to drive performance improvement.
- Foster a culture of excellence and maintain a bedside-driven leadership environment.
- Education & Integration:
- Provide bedside nurse education on NDNQI and Magnet components.
- Integrate patient and family engagement (PFE) into daily practices.
- Data Management:
- Develop, analyze, and maintain nursing quality data and scorecards.
- Ensure adherence to Magnet requirements and accurate reporting.
- Oversight:
- Administer the National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators.
- Manage the RN Satisfaction Survey and Nursing Dashboards.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required).
- Master’s degree (preferably with a focus on Nursing) (required).
- Experience:
- 3-5 years in healthcare with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Management experience at the department head level.
- Licensure:
- Current Michigan RN license.
- Certification in specialty strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of nursing standards and data analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels in the healthcare environment.
- Proven negotiation skills in complex situations.
- Site coordinator/administrator for the following:
- National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators.
- RN Satisfaction Survey.
- Nursing Dashboards.
- Assists in the evaluation of quality and appropriateness of care.
- Facilitates all aspects of the Magnet application and submission process.
- Ensures accuracy and completion of all Magnet documents.
- Educates nursing staff on Magnet components.
- Reviews and interprets Magnet components and communicates findings to team members and nursing leaders.
- Mentors staff to develop professionally and establish an autonomous professional practice environment.
- Educates and works with nursing leadership / management to ensure adherence to guiding principles.
- Works collaboratively to ensure focus on quality indicator improvement with nursing leadership and staff.
- Works closely with nursing leadership and hospital PI to establish appropriate metric development, database use, and benchmarks.
- Ensures accuracy of data and reports.
- Creates, updates, and maintains scorecards for units and nursing division.
- Works collaboratively with OI/PI to ensure accreditation / regulatory compliance.
- Inputs into policy and procedures to ensure integration with Evidence Based Practices (EBP) and identified areas of need.
- Provides presentations to nursing, community regarding Magnet, nursing quality, and professional practice.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate difficult situations professionally, diplomatically up and down the chain of command.
- Exceptional professional writing skills.
- Coordinates and leads multidisciplinary teams as assigned to accomplish established goals.
- Physical Requirements:
- Significant mental and visual engagement (70-90% of time).
- Regular lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to assist with heavier tasks and handle equipment/materials.
