Manager Pharmacy Operations - Pharmacy Services

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager of Pharmacy Operations to join our partner Medical Group in Philadelphia, PA. This pivotal role involves overseeing and optimizing the daily operations of the pharmacy services department, ensuring efficient medication management, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including medication procurement, inventory management, dispensing, and distribution.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to streamline workflow, enhance efficiency, and reduce medication errors.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all federal and state pharmacy practice regulations, including medication safety, storage, and disposal.
• Staff Management: Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes professional growth and development.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the pharmacy's annual budget, monitoring expenses, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to continuously evaluate and improve medication safety and patient care.
• Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless medication management and optimal patient outcomes.
• Technology Integration: Utilize and leverage pharmacy technology systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and patient safety.

Qualifications:

• Education: Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) or a combination of relevant education & experience may be considered.

• Experience:

  • Hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Experience leading projects and initiatives within a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Sterile IV compounding experience.
  • Managerial or supervisory experience.

• Certification and Licensure: Active PA Pharmacist License.
