Manager, Project Engineering - Reading Truck

About the Job
As a Project Engineering Manager at Reading Truck, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multiple projects from initiation to completion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget while meeting quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful project management, strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Ultimate accountability for all project results and metrics
- Development of alternative approaches for addressing production, business and customer needs
- Evaluate and propose appropriate solutions, provide scopes of work and capital /expense budgets
- Lead interdisciplinary % diverse project teams
- Drive projects to completion
- Manage change, solve problems, address roadblocks
- Provide input for business capital planning
- Coach Improvement Engineers and plant support teams
- Regularly meet with stakeholders to identify and discuss project issues and assign responsibilities and timelines. Keep the project on track.
- Balance project scope / budget / timeliness and manage risk in accordance with requirements
- Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and Executives - providing regular project updates
- Provide business ant technical leadership needed for successful conduct of the projects
Required Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering or related field of study
- Experience in truck body building and up-fit, automotive, or related industries
- Proven experience in program management, stakeholder management and cross-functional teams' management
- Experience with quality systems including ISO9001, APQP, PDCA (A3) and other industry-wide standards
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement strongly preferred
- Experience in Stage-gate product development process (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA etc.) preferred
- Experience with customer-facing applications and sales configurators preferred
- PMI/PMP professional certification highly preferred
- Six Sigma certification (Green belt or higher) preferred
- Must be able to travel as required - to Reading, PA and other sites - car and plane
