Responsibilities:Draper is seeking a Manager of Time Charging Compliance, reporting directly the Chief Financial Officer. This role is instrumental in overseeing and optimizing Draper’s charging practices and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures. This is a crucial role for optimizing efficiency and safeguarding against legal and regulatory risks related to charging practices as well as ensuring ethical standards and compliant business operations.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a strategic business partner to Draper leadership, compile and analyze data related to charging and provide insights to support strategic decision making
• Monitor and analyze charging practices to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with company policies
• Inform CFO of policy compliance gaps, or internal control issues, and recommend/assist in the implementation of proposed solutions
• Develop new and update existing internal charging policies in line with how the business evolves in alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Draper’s established Cost Accounting Standards Disclosure Statement
• Conduct regular surveillance reviews and selected audits to ensure adherence to expense policies and budgetary guidelines
• Generate regular reports for management highlighting trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
• Remain informed about relevant laws, company policies, and industry best practices related to charging
• Develop and deliver training to educate employees on charging compliance requirements
• Coordinate with functional operational assurance owners on identified processes
• Collaborate across Finance and with Internal Audit, Human Resources, Legal, General Ledger, and Government Compliance on updates to policies and procedures
• Offer support and guidance to resolve issues and inquiries related to charging practices
• Support financial initiatives/special projects
• Perform all other related duties as assigned

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Business, Finance, or a related field
Experience:
- At least 8 years of defense contracting experience, including at least 3 years of proven experience in charging practice management
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis
- Strong oral and written communication skills necessary, as is ability to cultivate critical inter- and intra-departmental working relationships, foster an environment of cooperation and trust and effectively meet deadlines while providing a high level of customer service.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of database structures for data extraction from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms; advanced Excel skills needed
- Familiarity with Government regulations preferred (FAR, DFARS, CAS, OMB)
- A demonstrated ability to be proactive and forward thinking in a fast-paced environment
