Job DescriptionThe Manager, Procurement Services reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The position is responsible for leading forecasting, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, and return/life cycle materials for a variety of products and services for the NM’s Procurement Operations Center in Grayslake, IL. The incumbent will also develop and manage project work plans, resources, and performance metrics to assure activities are executed on-time and on-budget. This position will lead up to four direct reports and collaborate with Supply Chain, Information Services, Pharmacy, and others to achieve the organization’s strategic goals and objectives and contribute to improved service provision. These activities should meet or exceed the requirements of the organization and be accomplished at the most favorable cost and efficiency within a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate forecasting, procurement, transportation, receipt, warehousing, inventory, distribution, shipment, payment, metrics, and performance for the select service lines and related logistics services ensuring timely, efficient, and cost-effective performance.
- Manage vendor performance, costs, and improvements through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with operations related to product transformation for clients along with delivery, replacement, return (reverse logistics), and disposal.
- Identify, develop, and implement qualitative/quantitative analyses and solutions that add value and strengthen project or operational outcomes.
- Set explicit priorities, establish effective action plans, and anticipate obstacles and alternatives for challenging but realistic work goals.
- Provide proactive, clear, concise, and timely communications regarding status of initiatives and overall performance and budget reporting.
- Accountable for achieving results through delivering projects and operational initiatives on-time and within budget.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, work groups, and committees within various levels of staffing and management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (in Business, Supply Chain, or related field) or equivalent experience required.
- Four to six years of Supply Chain industry experience (including procurement and inventory/warehouse management).
- Ability to organize workload and set priorities.
- Understanding of financial analyses and quantitative/qualitative assessment data.
- Skills working and negotiating with vendors and internal clients.
- Analysis and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate change and achieve savings goals.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with diverse audiences and personnel.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels.
Preferred:
- Project management experience, including creating and managing project plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Certification in project management and/or supply chain.
- Work with cross-functional teams and with people from various disciplines and cultures.
- Change management experience.
- Healthcare supply chain experience.
- Master’s degree in related field.
