Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA), the Regions number one mobility provider, is looking to fill the Manager of Technical Training position. Working at CDTA, you will be a part of a team that provides essential services to the Capital Region.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Manager of Technical Training is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs for maintenance staff within the transit bus operations. This position ensures that all maintenance personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain and repair transit buses efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
General Duties:
• Training Development: Design and develop training programs tailored to the needs of maintenance staff, including new hire orientation, and ongoing skills training.
• Curriculum Management: Create, update, and maintain training materials, manuals, and documentation to reflect current best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements.
• Instruction and Facilitation: Conduct hands-on training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
• Performance Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all training programs comply with safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance leadership team and other departments to identify training needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Manage apprenticeship programs and coordinate with local educational institutions and industry partners to provide effective training.
• Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support and mentorship to maintenance staff, fostering a continuous learning environment.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on training program outcomes, employee performance, and areas for improvement to senior management.
Experience and Education
• Associate’s degree in related field is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• A minimum of five years of experience working in a maintenance shop or educational facility in a supervisory/training roles
• Must obtain ASE Master Transit Bus certifications within one year of hire
• Experience with Maintenance software applications as well as all Microsoft products
• Demonstrated ability to manage and provide guidance to employees at all levels
• Able to provide training materials that you have developed and execute
Compensation
Grade 616 ($63,458 - $78,053)
