Pharmaron Manufacturing Services, located in Coventry, Rhode Island, has an immediate opening in the manufacturing group for a Manufacturing Associate.
Position Objective:
The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for the manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The individual has the experience to consistently perform all required operations at the highest level. In addition, they will be capable of assuming additional responsibilities on-shift such as shift leader when required. The individual will assist management in safety, technical and regulatory tasks including training, and production planning. May be responsible to manage small programs
The Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Production of API's and related operations.
- Safely operate all equipment according to procedure and regulations at all times.
- Must follow all SOPs' & batch records as written and report all exceptions according to procedure.
- Maintain good housekeeping within the facility.
- Transport materials using manual and power assisted vehicles within the interior and grounds of the site. Powered vehicle certification required. Assist materials management in related activities as required.
- Perform in-process analytical testing at laboratory bench and pilot plant scale as required.
- Perform incidental and preventive maintenance and assist maintenance personnel in related activities.
- Collect and record equipment and process data as instructed.
- Issue Safety permits such as Line Breaking, Lock-out Tag-out, and Hot Work permitting.
- Participate in safety and quality investigations
- Attend all required cGMP, DEA, and ESHA training and accept overtime assignments as needed.
- Participate in Safety activities such as PHA and PSSRs.
- ERT Team Membership (team job restrictions determined by medical).
- This is a rotating shift position. Employee must be flexible to work 4-, 5- or 7-day schedules for periods dictated by business needs.
- This position is responsible for maintaining safe and efficient manufacturing capabilities in compliance with Safety, Batch Records, SOPs', cGMPs', FDA, OSHA and other regulatory bodies. Errors in any of these areas can have significant impacts resulting in accidents, environmental incidents and out of specification products, missed shipments, or negative financial impacts.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Prior experience in batch chemical processing preferred
- Prior experience working in a regulated environment
- Math skills to perform batch record calculations
- Familiar with OSHA, ESafety & Environmental regulations
Education:
- HS Diploma or GED required. AS/BS in Chemistry or related field preferred.
