Our client, a leading global manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for 2nd shift to join their dynamic team. Hours typically run from 4pm - 12pm. This role is pivotal in leading the introduction of new products, improving productivity, and providing ongoing support throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. What You Will Be Doing:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- New Product Introduction: Leading the introduction of new products into the facility, ensuring smooth integration and ramp-up.
- Process Improvements: Evaluating manufacturing processes to optimize labor and material costs, driving productivity and profitability through innovative solutions.
- Production Support: Providing timely technical support for manufacturing areas, diagnosing and resolving production issues to minimize downtime.
- Special Projects: Leading significant product and process change initiatives, ensuring successful implementation within the plant.
- Strategic Planning: Conducting advanced research to integrate new processes, equipment, and technologies into the company's operations.
Who You Are:
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent education
- Strong analytical skills in process evaluation, capacity planning, and cost-benefit analysis
- Expertise in lean manufacturing techniques, including process flow, equipment reliability, and setup reduction
- Proficiency in project management and leadership, with a track record of leading successful initiatives
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel and Access
- Experience in the design, specification, and installation of new equipment
- Knowledge of occupational biomechanics and human factors engineering
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in internal and external quality management
- Facilitation and negotiation skills to drive process improvements
- Knowledge of material handling and productivity improvement techniques
- Understanding of economics, financial analysis, and strategic planning
- Familiarity with simulation, process modeling, and value stream mapping
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
