POSITION SUMMARY
New Flyer is looking for a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure product quality. This position is for weekends.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide technical support and expertise in manufacturing processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize product quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and implement best practices.
- Create and update work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Review and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
- Support manufacturing cell layout design and equipment/tooling selection.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
What You Will Need:
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in the automotive or heavy-duty manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and process improvement methodologies, such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Understanding of safety regulations and ability to promote a culture of safety.
- Flexibility to work weekends.
