Description
Summary:
Write and edit manufacturing plans. Designs tooling and fixtures for production machining of castings and complex shaped parts. Design manufacturing sketches and write bill of materials. Effectively uses resources to resolve problems, support special projects and improve processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Perform engineering activities that enhance the manufacturing environment and meets customer expectations.
+ Write and maintain manufacturing planning and sketches for detailed parts and assemblies.
+ Redesign or design tooling to support the manufacture of parts and assemblies.
+ Build and maintain bill of materials.
+ Support manufacturing of parts and assemblies.
+ Participate in MRB decisions, design activities and troubleshooting of manufacturing problems
+ Enter new jobs in the MRP system, including new material, bills of material, costing and manufacturing plan routing.
+ Support Customer Service with requests for quote on new and existing programs.
+ Program 2-4 axis CNC machining centers.
+ Maintain and monitor SPC (Statistical Process Control).
+ Must participate in 5s and lean manufacturing activities.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent) from four year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
+ Preferred: Lean and/or Six-Sigma Certification
Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ None
Computer Skills:
+ Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in Windows XP, Word, Excel, and MS Dynamics-AX
+ At least one year of experience with CAD programs such as Solid Works.
Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability:
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, procedure manuals, professional journals, government regulations, and technical procedures.
+ Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, top management, and employees of the organization.
+ Ability to accomplish common mathematical calculations, in all units of measure.
+ Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
+ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumference and volume.
+ Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, as well as trigonometry.
+ Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
Physical Demands:
+ The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
+ While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb/balance, reach, talk and hear, work near moving mechanical parts, and occasionally work near fumes or airborne particles.
+ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
+ The job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions are of a typical manufacturing environment and its equipment including occasionally working near fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Safety glasses and hearing protection are required when on the shop floor.
Salary Description
55,000 to 80,000
