Position Summary & Responsibilities
STS Technical Services is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Global Power Components in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting day-to-day production and technical issues related to the production of engineered-to-order (ETO) products. Your responsibilities will include:
- Production Support: Address day-to-day production and technical issues, ensuring smooth operations for ETO products.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Create and maintain SOPs to capture current production processes, focusing on safety, ergonomics, and production rate improvements.
- Quality and Production Goals: Develop, audit, and continuously improve department quality and production goals while serving as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and requirements to create manufacturing plans that meet customer specifications.
- ERP Software Utilization: Use ERP software to guide production processes and manage costs effectively.
- Process Engagement: Collaborate directly with Production departments and staff to ensure robust processes and workflow.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Industrial Engineering and support team projects.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service and ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Manufacturing Process Familiarity: Ability to become intimately familiar with manufacturing processes.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Interest in working primarily in a fast-paced, production environment.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
- Technical Reading Skills: Ability to read and understand technical prints and specifications.
- Teamwork: Work equally well alone or in a cross-functional team.
- ERP Software: Interest or experience in utilizing ERP software regularly.
- Experience: Entry-level to three years of experience is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field of study is preferred.
