Manufacturing Engineer
- Provide input/engagement to management and engineers on various projects, improvements, equipment status, tasks, thereby ensuring efficient manufacturing operations.
- Provide vital engagement/direction in manufacturing processes creation.
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement. Work with Manufacturing leadership to implement improvements focused on enhancing efficiency, minimizing waste, and boosting productivity.
- Plan, oversee, and execute as needed, experiments, gathering, maintaining, formatting, compiling, manipulating, and analyzing technical data to drive improvements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Read and evaluate blueprints and technical specifications/standards. Integrating technical specifications/standards into SOP’s and equipment maintenance guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve process-related issues. Strong ownership of daily equipment uptime needs.
- Utilize daily huddles and team meetings input to problem solve and correct existing methods (within scope) to prevent daily challenges.
- Where applicable, provide training and support to production teams to ensure successful implementation of new manufacturing processes.
- Apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems that ensure compliance with production and product specifications across various operating conditions.
- Work with maintenance teams to ensure production equipment functionality & proper utilization as outlined in manufacturer specifications, technical manuals, maintenance requirements, etc, such that equipment is optimized in functionality and uptime is maximized.
- Spearhead, as needed, equipment technical liaison with 3rd parties as needed to maintain said requirements
- Provide training and support to production teams to facilitate the successful implementation of processes & methods.
- Assist where needed to monitor & audit process adherence on the shop floor, providing real-time guidance to employees as well as updating related systems based on findings.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by leadership
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in process modeling and simulation software.
- Experience in oversite, management, development of equipment management systems, including controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC operations.
- Foundational knowledge of machine controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC operations.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Spanish speak/write/translate a strong plus
