SUMMARY:
SUMMARY:
- Design and develop repairs for components submitted for repairs, for product changes, and for product enhancements. Coordinate decision-making for in-house manufacture, repair, or outside supply. Provide engineering support for determining repair solutions (repair instructions) for items identified as repairable.
- Maintain a continuing liaison relationship with engineering and manufacturing to ensure that repaired items ship on time and within budget, and ensure repairs are accomplished with effective utilization of available manufacturing resources.
- Configure assembly processes, sequence of activities, and material handling toward repair programs.
- Research and identify outside vendors that can accomplish repairs, if required. Maintain current knowledge of competitive technologies including manufacturing and materials developments as related to company products.
- Conduct testing utilizing existing test protocols or create new ones as needed to ensure process capability.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely manufacturing documentation including assembly procedures, testing methods, packaging and labeling instructions, BOM, and others as required.
- Oversee the detailed manufacturing planning for each part and assembly. Specify BOM structure, methods, sequence of operations, shop routing, time standards, and tooling as required.
- Participate in material review board activities to review and disposition non-conforming materials and assemblies.
- Participate in company safety committee and environmental programs as required.
- Provides sustaining engineering support to production.
- Participate in the implementation of corrective actions to improve production and/or quality.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Ability to work independently or lead a team working on specific engineering projects.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.
- Goal-driven independent thinker, equally capable as an individual contributor or project team leader.
- Must possess the drive to get the job done in the face of unknowns and a willingness to jump in whenever needed.
- Ability to work with a professional and positive attitude to improve processes and is data-driven.
- Familiar with AutoCAD software. Adept use of Excel, MS project, Word, and Window based programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Utilize educational background, work experience, and common sense to perform the required job functions for this position.
- May require on-the-job training, continuing education or other employer required training.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering plus three years applicable experience, or, Seven (7) years of applicable on-the-job experience.

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and procedures.

PHYSICAL MOTION:
May sit at least 35% of each workday at a desk working on a computer and/or doing paperwork. Otherwise, working in the shop area and examining hardware, interacting with coworkers, filling out paperwork or working at a WIP computer station.
DEGREE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
The candidate will be required to sit, stand, walk and occasionally move light objects. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and less force more frequently.
